Why all the bad words guys ?

This sound just awesome, even if you don't like house and cuddy you like House the character, right ? So you are not curious to see him in a relationship and his evolution ?
Don't get that...
M.: canon shipping ftlm_supercomputer on July 27th, 2010 03:31 pm (UTC)
I could be cool with it, if House the show had a good track record at portraying relationships that last more than 3 or 4 episodes. But they really don't. The build-up to House/Cuddy happening was wildly inconsistent, which I think even many shippers would agree with, given their reactions to s6. Chase/Cam was developed in a scattershot way and most episodes focusing on their relationship followed the same trajectory (Chase pursues her until she gives in) until the relationship's ridiculously abrupt ending. Foreman/Thirteen managed to be both melodramatic (I'M BLIND) and tedious. And given that anything House does is guaranteed to get more screentime than other storylines, and it's not unreasonable to suspect that there's a real danger of the relationship plot being handled poorly and that it will overwhelm the rest of the show.

Also, let's be real, here: if this were a promo for House/Cameron or Cuddy/Lucas, most House/Cuddy shippers would react the exact same way as the posters above.

Of course, just posting "vomit" isn't much of a conversation starter on the subject...

but who cares who House is dating, as long as it's House this is what interest me.
I agree for Foreman/13, their relationship was not very well written but whith these characters, nothing really interesting can happen ( well for me).

Personally, i watch the show for House and everything related to him keep me interesting. I'm sure that this relationship with Cuddy will be well written, this is the logical next step on the show, you can't deny the attraction between these 2 and i'm glad some happiness is finally coming for him, even if it's only for an episode lol

Easy for you to say, you obviously are Huddy fan. For non-Huddy fans it's hard to take. The show changed so much, my favorite character is gone, and now they want me to celebrate the one ship I can't stand at all?! No, thanks. Actually I wouldn't even want to see House & Cameron in a relationship on the show (and yes, I'm a Hameron shipper - but full-blown ships belong to fanfiction imo), so why would I want to watch Huddy soap opera?! Sorry, but for me promos like this are like torture. It has nothing to do with the show I fell in love - although I still hope that this show is still buried somewhere inside and will come out once Huddy blows up. That's the only reason why I still try to stay informed what's happening. So I can tune back in once we're back to "normal". (Usually I don't even care to comment here anymore, but I know this is how many of us feel about it, that's why I did comment this time.)
ncismelanie: house bikescully1121 on July 27th, 2010 08:54 pm (UTC)
Sorry to hear that :(

Yes i love "huddy" but i love all the relationship House has, if it's with Cameron, Lydia, Stacy... I find interesting to see House in a relationship and i'm glad this is with Cuddy cause the show is going this way for years.

I don't understand why you call it "soap opera" ? Is it have to be soapy that House is in love ? House loved Stacy, he lives whith her and said "i love you" to her, so it was since season 1 already soapy ?

But i understand that some fans don't like Cuddy, but stoping watching the show because of that, i don't understand...

Anyway, that's too bad people only see the "ship" while the show is so much more than that, even if Fox obviously promote huddy cause the 7x01 will be the continuation of Help me.
ally_cam: Original teamally_cam on July 27th, 2010 09:04 pm (UTC)
Yes, IMO they make it too soapy, it's too much (and I know that there are a lot of fans out there who think so too). The focus has changed too much. In former times the focus was mainly on House the doctor, the medical cases he deals with, the doctors he works with. All the personal stuff is too much for me, I'd watch Grey's Anatomy if I wanted to see stuff like that (which I don't watch either). It's not that I can't stand Cuddy, I just don't like Huddy. Problem is these days the "ship" IS the show, and until that changes again I prefer not to tune in, even though I miss House. But right now it's not the show I fell in love with anymore :-(

lol i could never compares House to Grey's, no way of that !
I can't obviously write any arguments here cause you have all your vison of the show as is your right.
Personnaly i'm glad the show is more focus in relationship now than cases, cause 7 years of cases and no evolution of the character will be so boring.

Same applies to you, pretending to be the one with a neutral view is wrong - for either of us. As I said, it's my opinion, and I just hope Huddy will end soon, because I definitely don't enjoy it. If you do, good for you. Enjoy! We'll see what happens, and since my life doesn't depend on a TV show - even if it's House - I can live with it, however it works out. And as I also said, I just wanted to give the POV of someone who watched and loved the show since the beginning 6 years ago and isn't happy with the show's new route without just stating "vomit" and instead explain a bit why ;-)
rhrsoulmates: rhrsoulmates on July 27th, 2010 09:07 pm (UTC)
but who cares who House is dating

Exactly. I don't. At all. The show did not start out as the soppy, *emo* soap opera that it's become, or WILL become especially now that House & Cuddy's twu wuv that was always meant to be (except, not) is finally being explored.

I'm sure that this relationship with Cuddy will be well written

Ha, if based on the show's track record, I'm sure the opposite will be the case, and I'm not even sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing anymore. Had the writing stayed consistent from day one and it was clear, to me that *this* was the couple who was ultimately meant to be, then I would be welcoming it with open arms. I don't know what to believe from one half a season to the next so that's why I'm not sure it will be well written at all.

Oh and if it makes any difference, I am NOT a House/Cuddy OR a House/Wilson shipper so no bitterness here. I've never shipped House with anyone on the show.
ncismelanie: house help mescully1121 on July 27th, 2010 09:38 pm (UTC)
well i trust the writters cause maybe i'm the only one here lol but i'm actually enjoying watching House so i'm sure i will like what they'll come up with :) i've never been desapointed so far ;)

And what does "soap" means anyway ? if you're romantic, it's look like soap ? cause we know House can be romantic, so beware guys lol

I'm with you, bby. I still love House. People just can't allow change. You'll find that in any fandom (which is generally why I avoid them in the first place). Just do your best to ignore the haters (which mostly means avoiding fandom places since people will find anything to complain about). I think the show has really grown since the beginning, which is a good thing. Of course there wasn't as much of the romance in the beginning, because these were characters they were letting us get to know, showing us how they interacted, what they were like, and now we're seeing six years of show and interactions blossoming.

And just to say, I'm not a Huddy fan. I don't want them together, but I'm not about to damn the show because they're taking it that direction.

House rules, always has and it still does.
ally_cam: Original teamally_cam on July 28th, 2010 12:06 pm (UTC)
To be honest, I don't mind character development as long as it's done well. They don't need to stick to the formula 100%, they just change too much and way too fast. And getting rid of a popular character like they did with Cameron doesn't help either. It's a problem not only I'm having with the show right now. I have many friends who are not involved with the fandom but watch House. Or used to watch. They scare people off with it, and TPTB need to realize that before it's too late and only Huddy fangirls and a bunch of others keep watching. I don't want the show getting killed for the sake of Huddy! Or any other ship actually!
(BTW what I really hate is that some "fans" dare to judge over other fans for voicing their doubts about the direction the show is going into. It does not make us worse fans, we're just concerned. Not meaning you directly, just in general.)

Aside from "5 to 9," season 6 was probably the season with the least amount of screentime for Cuddy in the history of the show. Save for the finale, this was a largely frustrating season if you were a H/Cuddy fan. Personally, in a season where House and Wilson moved in together (complete with "morning glory"/lint-cleaning sessions), Wilson proposed to House, and House gleefully watched "Wilson" in a porno, I think this season was more H/W than H/Cu.

And I say that as a H/Cu AND a H/W shipper. There were some nice H/Cu moments in the beginning of the season, then it became dreadful, so any excitement I experience (until the finale) was pretty much reserved for H/W moments.

The show was mostly H/Cam for the first two seasons (with s2 adding H/Stacy), while H/W and H/Cu fans lives off of subtext. H/Cu started to be actively explored in season 3, perhaps the end of season 2 at the earliest, but at least have of s3 was also devoted to H/Cam. If we're talking about time spent on exploring each relationship, H/W is the winner, even if we haven't gotten a H/W kiss onscreen.

In after everyone whinges about how soppy and out of character a plot will be before anyone has seen it.

I've seen enough last season. House acting like a kicked puppy? ME DO NOT WANT!!!
A Work In Progresspeculiar_writer on July 29th, 2010 04:14 pm (UTC)
I agree. I can't watch this show anymore. House is completely out of character, the writers have no clue how to write a relationship arc, the House/Cuddy thing is SO played out (they had chemistry for two seasons and now it just makes no sense. It's so forced and fake and Hugh Laurie just looks bored with it), and I miss the medicine, the plot, the witty dialogue.

The show is dead to me. I stopped watching mid-season 6. I loved you, House, but it's not me, it's you. You...suck now, and if I'm honest, the show has for at least two years.
