I find it interesting that Chase is protecting (badly) Foreman's continued interest in 13, yet by the end of the episode he does something that shows an interest in her himself. Well, we'll see.

This raises a lot of questions. Such as who was looking after Cuddy's daughter while she was at House's place all night? I doubt it was Lucas since she dumped him. If it was him then he is one selfless dude.

I'm concerned they're going to make Cuddy the girlfriend who drops her life in order to tend to her man. She's already blowing off work and her child to look after him. Maybe I'm just worrying too much but these clips don't exactly fill me with hope.

>>>who was looking after Cuddy's daughter while she was at House's place all night?<<<

But she wasn't at House's place all night, she was at the accident site doing her job, so I'm gonna assume that she has a nanny who's available in such cases of emergency, which given Cuddy's profession and position would make sense.
She only arrived at House's apartment in the early morning hours at approx. five o'clock.

And why do you see it as "tending to House", from what I gathered, she decides to spent some quality time with him the first day of their relationship, which I'm sure she enjoys and gets something out of just as much as he does, so I wouldn't exactly describe it as dropping everything else in her life to pander to his whims and satisfy his needs.

I understand your point of view but I'm coming at this from a different angle. The few times we've seen the kid after the drama of finally acquiring her suggest that in the mornings and afternoon she's looked after by the nanny but then Lucas entered the picture and he was night/emergency guy. Since at the beginning of the finale Cuddy was engaged to Lucas and living with him, I doubt she called someone else to look after her daughter. Actually now that I think about it the likelihood that he just abandoned the kid he's started to think of as his own is pretty unlikely, especially since he lives there and I'm guessing he has his stuff in the house. Immediate evacuation doesn't make sense. (Plus I doubt the regular nanny was about to get up in the middle of the night to look after the child of some woman who was more interested in frolicking with her new boyfriend than being a mother) I guess while Cuddy was choosing to get it on with House Lucas was watching her daughter sleep.

The more I think about this, the less I respect Cuddy. I should probably stop thinking about it or I won't enjoy the new episode. All the same, I want to respond to the last thing you said. From that point of view, you're completely right. It's a brand new romance and spending time together is probably completely natural. My thought process on that one was that she might be more willing to forget about her life because when she 'rescued' him he was emotionally devastated and about to go back to drug abuse. In this situation I can sort of understand why she's letting her responsibilities slide. I just hope it doesn't become a running theme this season.

Ok, I see what you mean, but then again we have been shown that Lucas seems to spend some nights doing his PI work. So it would still be reasonable for Cuddy to have a nanny for occasions where she needs to spend a night away from home and Lucas happens to be working too.
Which is why I'm gonna assume that the crane collapse coincided with a night shift of Lucas, and that is why Cuddy notified the nanny early on in the evening, when she realised that she would spend the night at the accident site.

Right. Plus LE said in the s7 interview that Rachel was with the nanny. After they had filmed at least the first two eps so, I'm assuming they referrence that's where she is. Either way, there are *interesting* presumptions of motives and implications about Cuddy in this post...

I wondered this too, but she did have a nanny, so I would guess the nanny's looking after her. Still, I agree that it seems she's just giving up her life. She wanted a baby so bad and then she hasn't really been tending to it.

Lisa said in an interview that Rachel is with nanny.

She was? Oh, never mind then. Gotta say that I'm impressed by that nanny. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty.

It's not impossible, especially for a woman in her position. Emergencies at night etc. The babysitter, in those situations, in not your regular teenager but a woman available for emergencies who's paid far more than double.

She's in love with the guy, give her a break. She wants to try something with him. This, clearly, doesn't mean she's giving up on her life and the amount of love she feels for her daughter.

Maybe the writers didn't think this through in terms of what should be explained within the story. But we all know this is just a television show in the end and no one expects it to dwell on every little detail. Especially for the casual viewers.

I know this will probably not change your mind on this, but my sister used to be in the exact same situation Cuddy is. She just gave birth, a couple of days ago, to a baby boy and now she has two kids, which is reason enough to take a longer leave of absence now. With one, she could manage. Now, not so much. But at least, she's married now. I'm just saying this is not something that is uncommon.
